As much as it is entertaining, traveling can also get tiring. So why not to stop for a cup of tea in a new city? Or to get a box of new tea as a souvenir? Ljubljana was on our way to another sight in Slovenia. But since it’s the capital, we’ve decided to stop there for a short lunch + tea break in a tea house named after CHA. Funny enough, before we’ve found the place, we’ve bumped into a specialized French tea shop which was just a few doors away.
Les Palais des Thes
As the name already reveals itself (“The Palace of Teas”) this French tea shop has everything to offer from a huge variety of teas from China, India, Japan, Sri Lanka or France to an exclusive tea ware like tea mugs, pots, store boxes and more. I was curious to learn more about Oolong tea which the staff explained me and before choosing one I also got to see and smell the tea stored in big metal cans. Now my tea collection includes semi-fermented Oolong Kuai from China!
Čajna Hiša CHA
Fresh pastry, delicious sandwiches, and of course a great tea menu. It’s a combination of a tea house and a tea shop where you can immediately buy the tea you enjoyed 10 minutes ago. Apart from tea one can purchase original tea accessories as well. I went for a cup of mate Kraus organic and my boyfriend had black tea Assam Sree Sibar. Tea served with a teapot (enough for 3-4 cup rounds) costs approx. 2 EUR.
