There’s nothing better than a nice cuppa after a full day… even better when it’s with a great view! A cute town in the south of Belgium, Dinant is often overlooked because everyone goes to Bruges or Brussels. But trust me, once you’re in Dinant, you’ll fall in love with its charm!
On my second visit to Dinant I’ve stumbled upon this chocolatier which offers far more than just Belgian chocolate. Solbrun is all about these tasty Belgian sweets and treats (gourmandisses as they say in French), accompanied by a good selection of loose leaf tea. You’re welcome!
Picking tea was fairly easy – among organic teas and many other classics, they had once my favourite green tea infused with cactus flowers. Tea check ✓! Next on the menu – a sweet tooth. A wide choice of cakes, as well as chocolates and typical Dinant cookies from the counter, are all on offer. Rhubarb and banana cake check ✓!
The place is filled with plenty of sunshine to enjoy your sweet or savoury break and gaze into the water. It’s right on the Meuse river bank so you can take a promenade and soak up the city views backed by cliffs. Another teaser: the inventor of the saxophone, Adolphe Sax, was born right in this city.
I found Solbrun a perfect choice for a stop or just to shop – or both!
